About the Event
Death Café is an open-ended community-driven conversation to explore topics surrounding our mortality, together. This event is hosted by Wild Embrace: integrated relational deepening.
We'll do brief introductions, set some basic group norms to create a safe space for authentic sharing, and see what comes up as we meander through our ideas about death, grief, and whatever else arises through the evening. And we've got tea and cake!
The Death Café framework comes from Jon Underwood and Sue Barsky Reid's work with Impermanence, and is heavily influenced by the ideas of Bernard Crettaz. Lizzy Miles was the pioneer who brought this modality to the U.S. They built this framework to 'increase awareness of death, with a view to helping people make the most of their (finite) lives.'
This Death Café will be cofacilitated by Skunk Bouchard of Wild Embrace IRD and Megan Rank-Carmichael.
This event is free to attend. The hosts are, however, accepting donations to cover the snacks, and provide some funds for future programming.
